The starting point

Fondazione Tinè supports and develops initiatives dedicated to urban greenery in Syracuse. Its digital project could not simply explain that mission: it needed to collect donations, offer activities and support a real commercial operation.

I designed and built the website from scratch, bringing editorial, fundraising, sales and event-management requirements into one system.

The constraint

Donations and commercial activities share the same platform, but not the same administrative flow. Invoicing and receipts needed to remain separate, while content, products, events and payments had to stay manageable without fragmenting the experience.

Commerce also required two distinct models: a local shop and a national shop within the same WooCommerce installation, each with different fulfilment rules.

Supporting and taking part

Donations

A dedicated flow lets people support the foundation while keeping donation records separate from commercial transactions.

Events, workshops and courses

Activities can be published and sold through integrated ticketing, without introducing a disconnected external platform.

Two shopping experiences

Two shops, one ecommerce platform

The local and national shops coexist within one WooCommerce installation. Their catalogues and operational rules remain distinct without forcing the client to manage two separate systems.

Checkout and local delivery

The checkout adapts to different purchase types. Local delivery is calculated around the actual service area rather than relying on postcode alone.

One operational foundation

Content and administration

Content, invoicing and receipt management distinguish donations, commerce and events while retaining one operational foundation.

The outcome

Fondazione Tinè now has a working platform for receiving donations and supporting its activities through commerce, events, workshops and courses. The website is not a brochure added beside those processes: it is where part of them happens.

Role and credits

I worked directly and independently across strategy, experience architecture, UI design, development, ecommerce, maintenance and technical consulting.
